Dr.Kim
Dr. Flora Kim is a board-certified dermatologist who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, received a full merit scholarship from the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine, and completed dermatology residency here in Dallas at UT Southwestern.
She was born in Seoul, South Korea, but spent her childhood years in Paris, France before her family transitioned to New York. Before entering the field of medicine, Dr. Kim worked in Manhattan as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. However, on 9/11, her life changed when escaping on the NY Waterway ferry and witnessing the second tower collapse. Dr. Kim experienced a period of introspection and decided to leave banking, instead pursuing a passion and serving her community as a physician.
Her introduction to dermatology was a fortuitous response by the world renowned Dr. Mark Lebwohl, who kindly responded to her mass Harvard alumni email request to shadow any physician in New York City. From there, her passion for skin grew as she conducted research at the Dermatology Branch of the National Institutes of Health under Dr. Mark Udey, and as a medical student at the University of Virginia under the guidance of dermatology chair, Dr. Kenneth Greer.
It is through the collective life and work experiences above that Dr. Kim pours her heart into the art of practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
