FAQ

FACIALS

Which facial should I schedule?

We take the guess work and worry out of the equation with our Bespoke Beauty Facial. On the day of your treatment, we will carefully listen to your concerns, thoroughly examine your skin, and then create a one of a kind facial treatment that will leave you glowing! If desired, we can also advise on maximizing your at home skincare routine and on other procedures or treatments that could help you accomplish your skin care goals.

How do I take care of my skin in between facials?

The skincare products and tools that you use at home are absolutely essential to taking care of your skin in between facials. Your esthetician will work with you to create a routine that fits well with your lifestyle and helps you achieve your goals. Please keep in mind some of your routine may need to change with the seasons or as you travel. This is a partnership and we will work with you to ensure you are taking care of your skin correctly throughout of the year.

How often should I get a facial?

You should get a facial every 4 to 6 weeks. This is ideal because generally speaking, your skin will regenerate itself approximately every 28 days. Equate monthly facials to going to the gym regularly. If you remain consistent, you will see results! For concerns such as acne or hyperpigmentation, your esthetician may recommend more frequent treatments.

When should I schedule a facial if I have an event coming up?

A week prior to your event is best. If you must do a facial two to three days prior to your event, we can create a custom "Red Carpet Facial" for you to ensure you are glowing.

What products should I stop using prior to having a facial treatment?

Three to four days prior to your facial, we ask that you stop the use of prescriptions such as Retin-A, Tazorac, Altreno, topical acne medications etc. It's best if you stop using products that contain ingredients such as lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid. The bottom line is to take it easy when it comes to active skincare ingredients prior to your facial.

Can I still receive a facial treatment if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! Whether it's a deep cleansing or hydration that you need, our esthetician can customize our facial to be pregnancy safe.

How soon can I schedule a facial after getting neuromodulators (Boxtox, Jeuveau, Dysport, etc.) and/or filler?

It's best to schedule your facial a week after you receive these injections, but this can vary based on areas treated, quantity of product administered, etc.

What can I not do after a facial?

DO NOT:

  • Wear makeup for 24 hours if possible.
  • Go to the gym or sauna. Sweat can irritate your skin after certain types of exfoliation. It's best to save the seat session until the next day.
  • Have any type of hair removal procedure done (threading, waxing or laser) post facial. This should be done prior.
  • Use exfoliants at home 3-4 days after your facial. Your esthetician will give you detail instructions on how to care for your skin post facial that will depend upon what treatment was performed. Make sure to follow them to the letter for best results!

Will I "purge" after a facial? If so, how long will it last?

Sometimes you may experience a little bit of purging or a small breakout or two post facial. This nothing to be alarmed about and should only last a day or two if it occurs. Facials can be very stimulating and massage, extractions and chemical exfoliators can dislodge sebum, dirt and dead skin that has been building up in the pores which can result in a small breakout. Should you feel that you are having a reaction, we ask that you contact us immediately.

TRUSCULPT

Can I work out after my treatment?

Yes, you can do everything as normal after treatment. In fact, we encourage you to work out.

Is there downtime?

Post treatment, the areas treated will be warm and flushed for about an hour. While you might experience mild sensitivity to the touch for a few days, you can return to normal activities immediately.

When will I start seeing visible results?

The energy delivered by truSculpt triggers the body's immune system to break down fat cells in treated areas. This process takes anywhere from 4 weeks to 3 months. You may begin to see results anytime during that period, or even later.

How many treatments will be needed?

Multiple areas can be treated in as little as one 15 minute session. Additional treatments may be required to achieve the personalized results you want.

What will it feel like?

TruSculpt  iD treatments are typically described as feeling like a hot stone massage or heating pad. During the treatment, the temperature of your skin will rise but remain comfortable.

MIRADRY

What is the miraDry® treatment?

miraDry is a revolutionary FDA-cleared non-surgical treatment that permanently reduces underarm sweat, odor, and hair - in just one hour. Over 100,000 miraDry treatments have been performed worldwide.

Don’t I need sweat glands?

While your body does need sweat glands to cool itself, your body has 2-4 million sweat glands - only about 2% are found in your underarms.  Eliminating this 2% of sweat glands does not affect your body’s ability to cool itself. With miraDry, you will experience the many benefits of reducing sweat in the underarm area, but you will continue to sweat in other areas of your body.

How does it work?

miraDry uses thermal energy to create heat in the area where bothersome sweat, odor, and hair glands reside and safely eliminates them.

What results can I expect?

You can expect immediate and lasting results.  Once the miraDry treatment eliminates the sweat, odor, and hair glands, they are gone for good.  Clinical studies show an average of 82% sweat reduction. As with any aesthetic treatment results, patient results and experience may vary.

How many treatments will I need?

You can see results in as little as one treatment. However, as with any aesthetic treatment, your physician will determine the best protocol for your desired results.

How long does it take?

An office visit appointment will generally last about one hour.

Is there any pain or downtime?

Most patients describe the procedure as painless with little to no downtime.  Local anesthesia is administered to the underarms prior to the treatment for patient comfort.  Most patients experience little to no downtime and return to regular activity (like returning to work) immediately. Exercise is typically resumed within several days. You may experience swelling, numbness, bruising and sensitivity in the underarm area for several days post-treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Some localized soreness or swelling will occur, and typically clears within a few weeks. This will resolve faster with consistent massaging of the underarms. Some patients have short-term altered sensation in the skin of their underarms or upper arms, which gradually disappears.
