LED Masks Are The Best Way To Keep Your Skin Care Routine High-Tech — Even When You Are Stuck At Home
Though COVID restrictions can make it seem impossible to maintain the results of your usual beauty routine, thanks to impressive developments in technology, at-home devices have become better than ever. One of my favorites? LED light therapy.
LED light therapy stimulates cells, to release ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is the major carrier of energy to all cells, thus helping older or damaged cells to be replaced faster. Essentially, LED light therapy can help the skin in multiple ways — from rejuvenation to decreasing inflammation, and is a great way to amp up your skincare routine when you can’t get to our office as often as you normally would.
My favorite is the Omnilux Contour FACE, which, in studies, has been clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and promote healthier, younger-looking skin. One of the great things about this at-home device is that it can truly be used by anyone and can help with the appearance of wrinkles, skin pigmentation, and skin hydration. It’s completely portable and the recommended usage time is just ten minutes, so while you can use it as an excuse to zen out for ten minutes, it’s also totally possible to go about your day with it on.
That said, LED light is not a standalone cure and is best used with a comprehensive at-home skincare routine. I recommend using the device on cleansed skin, and following its use with the rest of your skincare routine (i.e. serum, moisturizer, etc.)
